Ultrafiltration Our Membrane Systems offer a straight forward approach to separating oily wastewater which otherwise would require extensive physical/chemical or heat treatment. Membrane technology, proven to be the most reliable waste minimization solution for most manufacturers, can be applied to:
Metalworking Coolants Aqueous Parts Washer Solutions Vibratory, Burnishing and Deburring Wastes Mop Water; Food Processing Waste Air Compressor Blowdown Printing Press Washwater BOD and COD Reduction Physical barrier ensures bath purity levels and reduces rejects Extends bath life, reduces downtime and disposal costs Reduces waste by 98% Processes fluids up to 180" F 4 Sizes available to maintain washers from 170 to 2,000 gallons
Membrane Systems are available in microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis configurations in a range of process capacities from 75 GPD to 100,000 GPD.
Classifications of Membrane Systems
Microfiltration Microfiltration (MF) systems are ideal for recycling the fluids in aqueous parts washers by removing the oil and solids contamination. Operating at low pressures, MF technology can separate suspended and colloidal materials down to 0.1 micron. Membranes made of polymers or ceramics are available for high temperature applications.
Ultrafiltration Ultrafiltration (UF) systems are frequently used for waste streams containing oils. This technology will reject oil and solid particulate down to 0.005 micron on the surface of the membrane, allowing water and dissolved salts to pass through a barrier. UF is available in wide channel tubular configurations allowing for trouble-free processing in the presence of solids or in narrow channel designs which densely pack membrane area into elements for energy efficiency.
Nanofiltration Nanofiltration (NF) systems are used to provide higher quality discharged water than ultrafiltration. NF is a tight membrane which rejects dyes, and some large molecular weight compounds. NF membrane systems operate at low pressures with minimal pretreatment. In use for recycling rinse waters, removing dye penetrants from water and COD reduction, this technology is easy to use and economical.
Reverse Osmosis Reverse Osmosis membranes are used to separate salts from water. These high-pressure devices require pretreatment for trouble-free operation. Most often used in conjunction with ultrafiltration, RO will provide reusable water for most plant applications.
